On Sunday 29th September 2024, there will be a commemoration service at Riqueval Bridge to mark the capture of the bridge by the 46th Division in 1918.
On the 106th anniversary of this famous action, the President of the Office de Tourism du Pays du Vermandois, Daniel Denivet, will unveil a new information panel together with the recently renovated WFA memorial.
This will take place at the bridge at 10am and The WFA will be officially represented by our European Field Officer, Michèl Admiraal.
Parking will be available in the car park opposite ‘Le Riqueval’ Restaurant-Bar. The ceremony will include speeches and the laying of wreaths. The morning will be concluded with a reception at the Office de Tourism du Pays du Vermandois, near the Musée du Touage Riqueval (approx. 1 mile north on the Cambrai Road).
