The son of Jata of Deolali, Nashik, Bombay, India, Dasarat arrived in the UK in October/November 1914.

After seeing service in France in 1915, he died of illness in Brighton hospital on 8th September 1915.

Dasarat was cremated at the Chattri, Patcham Down, Sussex.

Singh Negi joined 2nd Bn Garhwal Rifles October 1913. He was sent to France from India as part of the Indian Expeditionary Force at the end of September 1914.
