This talk is about the largest war memorial in Italy and one of the largest in the world, housing the remains of 100,187 Italian soldiers killed between 1915 and 1917 in the battles fought on the Karst and Isonzo Front.
James regularly visits the area and has family there. One of his relatives served in the Austrian forces in the First World War.
We meet from 7:30pm, for an 8pm start, in the Poppy Lounge, upstairs at the Royal British Legion at Hornchurch. We request an entrance donation of £3.50 and we have access to the RBL bar.
There is parking nearby, in Fentiman Way, which is 24-hour pay and display. No cash is taken and there is a machine that accepts card payments right by the entrance.
As with all of our talks we welcome all comers, not just members of the Western Front Association.
