A talk by Meghan Kelleher on ‘The Commonwealth War Graves Enquiries Files’.

Meghan studied at the University of Kent for a Modern History MA and returned in 2019 to complete a PhD.  Her studies focussed on the commemoration of FWW dead in the UK.

The 'Enquiries files', sometimes known as the ‘Efiles’ are the files of the correspondence between the CWGC and next of kin of casualties.  They cover a wide range of subjects – from the addition of personal inscriptions to headstones, requests for photographs of graves, return of wooden grave markers and requests for the repatriation of remains.
