Tony Bolton is the National Chair of The WFA and this is his first visit to Canterbury.
Tony has been a member of The WFA since the very beginning in 1980 and is Chairman of the Chesterfield Branch. After retiring from a career in civil engineering Tony studied for a Master’s Degree in First World War History at Birmingham.
Tony’s talk will focus on the less than three weeks before the first battle of the war – at Mons on 23 August. This is an interesting period – the preparation, organisation and despatch of the thousands of men of the BEF to face the battles to come.
