'Harrods Response to the Great War' with Gary Parkins

Our next meeting is on Thursday 13th July.  Our speaker is Branch member Gary Parkins who will be talking to us on 'Harrods Response to the Great War'.  

Gary was born in north London and served in the Parachute Regiment in the early and mid 1970s with two tours in Northern Ireland. He visits the battlefields and places of military interest of both World Wars almost every year. He is now retired after 42 years at Harrods, 32 of those years as the Security Operations Manager and was on duty when the car bomb outside the store exploded in December 1983, in which 6 died and nearly 100 injured.
