Come and hear the true story of the SMS Konisberg a German light cruiser , she was sent to the German East Africa prior to the war arriving in Dar es Salaam in June 1914.
When war broke out she became a raider on the East Africa coast, a major failure to one of her engines saw her taking refuge in the Rufiji river delta. Before the repairs could be completed she was located by the Royal Navy.
If you want to know how the story ends you will need to attend the talk.
WFA members and non-members alike are equally welcome , we ask for a modest £4 donation on the door, this will give you a free entry into out raffle.
There is a small bar , tea and coffee are also available.
