1914: Germany’s Reckless Decision by Jeff Bennett

In August 1914 Germany embarked on war with a strategy that was not only flawed but defied her war aim. Deficient operational plans beset her pre-war thinking. By early August, fantasy and fatalism had taken hold. This talk examines the factors that made Germany’s decision for war so reckless.
