Role purpose:
To collaborate with other key stakeholders in organising and promoting WFA conferences and events, ensuring that the WFA is represented at significant ceremonial events. To act as a liaison between WFA magazine editors (Stand To! and Bulletin) and the Executive Committee.
Specific responsibilities:
Ceremonial events
- Liaise with the London Branch Committee and Network Rail in organising the annual Unknown Warrior Ceremony at Victoria Station.
- Work as a member of the WFA Cenotaph Committee to organise the annual Cenotaph Ceremony.
- Liaise with the DCMS and MoD in organising the annual ceremonies.
- Oversee reporting of the Cenotaph event.
- Represent the WFA at official events and ceremonies as appropriate.
Conferences
- Plan and organise any AGM Spring Conference.
- Collaborate and liaise with other appropriate organisations in organising Great War related conferences.
Publications
- Establish and monitor a schedule of publications, liaising with the Executive Committee and WFA magazine editors.
- Support the paper and digital editors in sourcing material for publication.
- Promote links between print and digital outputs.
