Role purpose:

To collaborate with other key stakeholders in organising and promoting WFA conferences and events, ensuring that the WFA is represented at significant ceremonial events. To act as a liaison between WFA magazine editors (Stand To! and Bulletin) and the Executive Committee.

Specific responsibilities:

Ceremonial events

  1. Liaise with the London Branch Committee and Network Rail in organising the annual Unknown Warrior Ceremony at Victoria Station.
  2. Work as a member of the WFA Cenotaph Committee to organise the annual Cenotaph Ceremony.
  3. Liaise with the DCMS and MoD in organising the annual ceremonies.
  4. Oversee reporting of the Cenotaph event.
  5. Represent the WFA at official events and ceremonies as appropriate.

Conferences

  1. Plan and organise any AGM Spring Conference.
  2. Collaborate and liaise with other appropriate organisations in organising Great War related conferences.

Publications

  1. Establish and monitor a schedule of publications, liaising with the Executive Committee and WFA magazine editors.
  2. Support the paper and digital editors in sourcing material for publication.
  3. Promote links between print and digital outputs.
