St Andrews Hospital, Thorpe in WW1

Speaker: Dale Wiseman
St Andrews Hospital, Thorpe

The presentation will look at some of the people who worked, visited or been patients of St Andrews Hospital since it opened in 1813. It will look at the challenges and changes that were imposed on the hospital when it became a War Hospital in 1915.

A feature will be a nurse who worked in the hospital in WW1 but sadly killed in WW2. The talk will also cover the closure of the hospital in the 1990's.

Members and non-members of The Western Front Association are equally welcome. Any new visitors are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from a group of like-minded enthusiasts.
