Honour & Tradition

Speaker: John Chester
Lincolnwmunveilingsirwrrobertsonnov1922

The war's unprecedented scale and horror challenged traditional notions of chivalry and fair play, as modern warfare included dehumanizing propaganda and devastating new weapons like poison gas. After the war, the broad consensus about what honour entailed was debated, with some favouring an "honourable death" while others questioned whether the immense loss of life could truly be justified.

2 Minutes Silence
