The Dorsetshire regiment was formed in the Army reforms of 1881 by merging the 39th (Dorsetshire) Regiment of Foot and the 54th (West Norfolk) Regiment of Foot. These became the new unit’s 1st and 2nd Battalions, respectively.

Callum’s talk will explain the history of the honours and awards bestowed on the Dorsetshire Regiment from the issue of the first Medal for all ranks through to the Devon & Dorsets being amalgamated into the Rifles.

Callum’s exhibition recently won a prestigious Gold Medal at the Military Historical Society annual exhibition.

Some great stories and interesting facts await!

Members and non-members of The Western Front Association are equally welcome. Any new visitors are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from a group of like-minded enthusiasts.
