NB Our January 2025 meeting will be one week later than normal to avoid the New Year period.
On Sunday, 12th January, members will share some of their research in short presentations. This year, the talks will include:
The Royal Navy and Blockading. The Short War Illusion Strikes Again
Lt Buchan at Battle of Arras April 1917
Coronel 1914
Captain Bryant, a dead horse and the missing cases of whiskey
Plus another on an officer with an unfortunate history and, in reserve, a talk on memorial plaques.
Please note that the selection of Somme trench maps we had planned to have on display will not be possible now but will be arranged for another meeting.
All members and guests are invited to attend. We do ask for £4.00 on the door to cover room hire etc.
