Tommy's Best Friend

Our December meeting will focus upon one of the iconic apsects of the Great War - the Lee Enfield rifle.

Cris Scott will share his expertise on the Lee Enfield rifle in a talk entitled ‘Tommy’s Best Friend’ - Introducing the Lee-Enfield SMLE, Britain's iconic WW1 Infantry Rifle. Members will be aware of the stories of soldiers' expertise with the rifle and how it became an important part of the BEF’s experience on the Western Front and in other theatres of war, and so familiar in writings and photographs of the war.  The talk will include exhibits for members to handle.

As ever, all members and guests are invited to attend. Doors open c13.40 and we do ask for £4.00 on the door to cover room hire etc.
