August 1914 - Follow a Supply Column and others through mobilisation and the total chaos of the opening weeks of the Great War

Speaker: Roy Larkin
Army Service Corps

NB - to avoid the Bank Holiday, our May 2026 branch meeting has been moved to the evening of Thursday, 7th May 2026 at 19.00.

For our May meeting, Roy Larkin returns to talk on another aspect of the Army Service Corps. On this occasion, the subject is 'August 1914 - Follow a Supply Column and others through mobilisation and the total chaos of the opening weeks of the Great War'.

Previously, Roy has provided the branch with detailed talks on other aspects of vehicles, transport etc associated with the ASC and we lok forward to this talk about activities essential to the support of the BEF right at the start of the war.

Doors open c18.40 and we invite all members and guests to attend. We do ask for a donation of £4.00 on the door to cover room hire etc.

There is a local election that day so the car park may be slightly busier than usual but there is plenty of parking in the lower area by the playing field.

Members and non-members of The Western Front Association are equally welcome. Any new visitors are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from a group of like-minded enthusiasts.
