The Wiltshire branch 2022/23 season gets underway with a look at an aspect of the war in East Africa that we have not previously examined.
Kevin Patience is visiting the branch to present his talk entitled ‘Shout at the Devil’. This is an account of the blockade and destruction of the German cruiser Konigsburg by the Royal Navy and the Royal Flying Corps in an East African river in 1915. On other occasions we have studied fighting on land so this will be an informative extension to the campaigns in that part of Africa.
All members and guests are welcome to attend. Doors open c13.40 and we do ask for £3.00 on the door to cover the cost of room hire etc.
Attendances have dropped post-pandemic to around 20 from 30 or so before Covid struck. We do urge all branch members to support our programme this year.
