Last month, September 2021, the branch was able to resume face-to-face meetings and local member Colin Ellender spoke on the action at Aubers Ridge in 1915. This month we turn the clock back to March 1915 and look at the battle that took place just a short distance to the west at Neuve Chapelle. Our speaker on this occasion will be Ross Beadle and he will provide a detailed presentation with maps etc. Ross is well known at the branch having spoken on aspects of the Great War such as FM Robertson and on the origins of the war.
All members and guests are invited to attend. We do ask for as donation on the door to cover the cost of room hire; only cash is taken. It has reduced to £2 per person as we have decided not to provide refreshments for the time being. The room will be laid out to make full use of the space and if any member wishes to wear a face covering that is, of course, understood.
