The Great War, And The Birth of Modern Horror

At our meeting today we welcome Mr Andy Moody, who will be talking to us about the Horrors of Modern Warfare, and all that it entails. Everything was made to kill you in every way possible, from the Kleinflammwerfer, to The Trench Mortar, to the16" Howitzer that threw it's 2340 lb shells up to 45,000 yards, to the myriad of deadly gasses, designed to burn out your eyes, your lungs, or even burn the skin off your body.

These are just a few amongst the many of the armaments,  that were designed to wound, maim, blind, and kill. This will be a harrowing tail of death and destruction in the Great War, and all the things that every serving man feared.

Before we start the presentation by Andy, we will be laying our wreath of remembrance  at the Allerton Bywater War Memorial outside the church we meet in.  We will then be having a short AGM, around (15 mins), and then we will listen to Andy's presentation. A full day for everyone I think.
