Henry Hugh Butler

Henry Hugh Butler was commissioned in the Royal Artillery on 1 October 1882. He was DAAG India (1896–1900) and Adjutant RA (April 1892–July 1893). He was appointed CRA South Midland Division on 18 July 1914 in the rank of colonel.
He retained the post when the European War broke out and was advanced to brigadier-general. He went to war with the re-named 48th (South Midland) Division in March 1915, but was sent home in May. He was 52.
