Digger Craven was in the Australian infantry during the weary months at Gallipoli. After the war he told his story to W. I. Blackledge, who transcribed it.
It has all the urgency of deeply recollected horror and provides a wonderful picture of the carnage and beastliness of the Mediterranean Campaign.
