This talk will consider Douglas Haig as First Army Commander relying upon Haig’s manuscript diary as a starting point. It will examine Haig’s performance as military commander, during what was, at the time, the largest battle the British Army had ever fought.

Members and non-members of The Western Front Association are equally welcome. New visitors are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from a group of like-minded enthusiasts.
