Navvies at War

The talk investigates the documentary and photographic evidence for the military service of the navvies who constructed reservoirs in the area around Burnley, Lancashire at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century. Particular reference will be made to the experiences of the navvies working at Hurstwood Reservoir.
