Visit to Ellesmere Port Boat Museum
31 August 2025
The branch visited Ellesmere Port Boat Museum on 31 August to see the Manchester Ship Canal War Memorial. We heard a very interesting talk from one of our members on some of the men on the memorial that had been researched. We then heard a talk on the history of Ellesmere Port from another member.
We then travelled a short distance to the Mersey Ironworks Memorial to hear about Samuel Icke, one of the men recorded on the memorial
The final stop of the day was at Christ Church Ellesmere Port to see the original twon war memorial and hear about some of the burials in the churchyard
A good day out and new members are always welcome to join us on our travels
