The Commonwealth War Graves Commission's (CWGC) Enquiries Files.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) have recently begun releasing digitised versions of their Enquiries, or "E" Files, and these records can provide a fascinating insight into the lives of the bereaved.
In this talk, Megan will focus on records relating to the United Kingdom, from changes in commemoration types to unexpected and exceptional circumstances; examples from these records will be discussed.
Megan has a PhD from the University of Kent, on the commemoration and care of Great War dead by the Imperial (later Commonwealth) War Graves Commission.
Megan is also a CWGC Public Engagement Coordinator and has worked in the heritage sector for the last seven years.
Members and non-members of The Western Front Association are equally welcome. Any new visitors are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from a group of like-minded enthusiasts.
