The North Staffordshire and South Cheshire Branch of the Western Front Association invites you to a unique day dedicated to uncovering local history, exploring military ancestry, and experiencing the stories of World War One.
Whether you are a history enthusiast or just beginning to trace your own family roots, join us to explore, learn, and step back in time.
The day will consist of :-
A series of talks given by branch members and local historians.
A research station dedicated to helping you discover and trace your relative’s wartime history.
Local re-enactors bring history to life in authentic World War One uniforms.
Experience a live tabletop wargame demonstration hosted by the Six Towns Gamers.
Embark on a guided "Walk and Talk" exploring the lives and tragic wartime romance of Vera Brittain and her fiancé, 2nd Lt Roland Leighton.
Themed Book Stall: Browse and buy from a curated selection of military and local history books.
Refreshment Stall: Take a break and enjoy a selection of drinks and light snacks available on-site throughout the day.
'Burslem Remembers' Talk: A look into the committee’s ongoing work honouring the wartime legacy of local men and women from the Potteries.
Commonwealth War Graves Commission Talk: An insight into the history and ongoing global work of the CWGC, both locally and internationally.
Join Us
This event is open to the public, and everyone is warmly welcome to attend what we hope will be the first of many heritage gatherings for our community.
Admission is free of charge, though any donations received are deeply appreciated.
