The Rocky Road to Trench Warfare

Local member Ross Beadle returns to the branch to speak about ‘The Rocky Road to Trench Warfare: Why were the Generals fighting the wrong war in 1914?’. This is a new talk and very likely to spark some debate about the manner in which the war of attrition on the Western Front came about.

Meetings take place at Highworth Community Centre, The Dormers, Highworth, Wiltshire SN6 7PE. There is parking on site at the front as well as behind the building. Doors open by 13.40 and we usually have a break for refreshments part way through the talk or before Q&A. We ask for a donation of £4.00 on the door to cover room hire etc. All members and guests are most welcome.
