Rededication of the Francis Dodgson Memorial

The memorial to Francis ('Toby') Dodgson at Contalmaison will be rededicated on 10 July.

The service at Contalmaison church begins at 5.45pm, followed by a procession to the new location of the restored memorial. Relatives of Toby Dodgson and several French officials will attend.

The memorial was lost in 2024 and rediscovered in 2025. It has since been fully restored and placed in a safe position near the road to Contalmaison. WFA Trustee Michèl Admiraal funded the restoration through his private fund, the Michael Admiraal Military History Fund, and organised the rededication with the mayor of Contalmaison and the director of the local tourist office.
