The Illustrated War News

Containing a wealth of information and thousands of photographs, many of which are unique, The Illustrated War News is now available in all 192 editions that were published between August 1914 and April 1918.

Upon the outbreak of the First World War, the well-established publication Illustrated London News began to publish an illustrated magazine related entirely to the war, and entitled it “The Illustrated War News”. This weekly magazine was reputed to have the largest number of Artist-correspondents reporting on the progress of the war. This series covers the war from outbreak until April 1918, when production ceased.

With over 9,000 pages of articles and illustrations, the magazine is a valuable historical resource for those interested in the First World War. The weekly publication frequency meant that subscribers at the time were able to stay informed about the latest developments in the war, providing a glimpse into the events of this tumultuous period of history.

The magazine is filled with photographs and drawings depicting relevant actions and people of the period.
