In this presentation Ryan Szimanski looks at the naval arms race before, during and after the First World War.

The naval arms race before, during, and after World War I was a period of intense competition in naval shipbuilding, primarily between Britain and Germany, but also involving other nations. This competition, particularly the focus on building dreadnought battleships, is seen as a contributing factor to the outbreak of the war and shaped naval warfare during and after the conflict.
