Gallipoli and the Western Front

In this lecture, Prof Gary Sheffield asks if Gallipoli and the Western Front were 'two sides of the same bad penny' or did the experience in the Dardanelles help create a more effective strategy in France and Belgium?

Was the efforts of the British, ANZACs and French at Gallipoli an 'impossible task' or was this campaign one that could have shortened the First World War?
