This presentation, which was delivered 'live' to an online audience by Clive Harris is about the Zeebrugge Raid on 23 April 1918. This was without doubt one of the most daring, enthralling, episodes of the Great War.

This talk considers both the military and morale impact of the Zeebrugge Raid, it looks at why it was necessary and what it set out to achieve.

Clive looks at the raid not as a standalone operation but, set it in the wider context of the Great War and what was happening on the Western Front at the time. It looks at the dramatic action and eclectic personalities of some of those who took part and finally we consider how it is commemorated today.
