Winston`s Little Army…Aspects of the Royal Naval Division

Speaker: Neil Taylor
Royal Marine Battalion Landing At Antwerp 1914

The talk is not a history of the Division and its battles. Such a talk would stretch over several hours and cover ground that can be found in the books written about the Division.

This talk looks at how Winston was the instigator for raising the division, the personalities of early officers and men. It investigates the relationships between the Army and the Admiralty and the Divisions reaction to both. Finally we look at some of the actions that define the division and how it was viewed by higher command and the enemy.
