This meeting is a daytime meeting at at the same venue as November 2024; The Storey in Lancaster.
Martin Jones recounts the story of John Westhead, Blacksmith killed in France 1916. Told from family letters and documents discovered in 2014. It is the family's story from pre-war life to coping with the loss of a father and husband after the war.
Martin is raising money for British Legion Poppy Appeal and in 2024 presented a cheque for £900 which he raised by giving his talk. The branch will be making a contribution from branch funds to Martin's appeal.
Members and non-members of The Western Front Association are equally welcome. Any new visitors are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from a group of like-minded enthusiasts.
