Bluebirds over the White Cliffs of Dover

Speaker: Greg Drozdz B.E.M.
Feb 2026.3

Originally used to refer to a specific group of Australian Great War Nurses, the term "Bluebirds" then became more widely used to identify all Nurses from that Dominion. Derived from the colour of their uniform, it is applied here to Nurse Kathleen Adele Brennan, who died in Leicester in November 1918. Using a unique archive of personal photographs, the story and sacrifice of Nurse Brennan is retold as never before.
