Speaker: Dr Pip Gregory
Cramping His Style Cartoon (Punch 9 April 1919)

Dr Philippa Gregory will be joining us for the first time to discuss the nature and use of cartooning in the First World War, the icons it created, some of the people who created the images and its legacy, both in the next war and through on to the modern day.

Pip came to her current interest in a roundabout way, via a BA in Theology, a detour through medieval literature, secondary teaching then back to academia and an MA in Modern History, followed by a PhD focused on cartoon humour through the Great War and its lasting memory.
