Nobody's Heroes - 8th East Lancs in the Great War

Speaker: Stephen Barker

Although the talk is about a Lancashire battalion, the presentation gives an impression of life in and out of the trenches for any Service Battalion of the First World War, irrespective of their origins. Fully illustrated, it tells of the war from the soldier's perspective, making use of documentary evidence including letters, sound archives, artefacts and poetry. The talk includes unusual perspectives of the war, highlights the experience of battle and makes links to the wider war.

Members and non-members of The Western Front Association are equally welcome. Any new visitors are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from a group of like-minded enthusiasts.
