The Life and Career of Field-Marshal Sir Henry Wilson

Speaker: Colin Harnett

This talk concentrates on Wilson's work to prepare the British Expeditionary Force for a European war when he was Director of Military Operations at the War Office between 1910 and 1914.

Colin will also provide some background into Wilson's life prior to those dates and will conclude by looking at his career during and after the Great War, including events which led to his death in 1922, as well as considering his legacy and reputation.

Members and non-members of The Western Front Association are equally welcome. Any new visitors are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from a group of like-minded enthusiasts.
