WFA Armistice Day Ceremony – Cenotaph and Guards Chapel

Members are welcome to join us at the Cenotaph and Guards’ Chapel on 11 November. This is a WFA event and members have the opportunity to have a close-up view of the proceedings.

Members-only

The parade, church service and lunch are limited to paid-up WFA members only. Members may invite guests to accompany them. Please bring a form of identity plus your WFA membership card. Security will be tight so this request is not without good reason.

Cenotaph

All meet at King Charles Street at 10am.

Wreath layers report to Phylomena Badsey at the entrance to King Charles Street at 10.15am. 

The WFA parade will proceed onto Whitehall at approximately 10.55am.

After the service, the WFA parade will return to King Charles Street.

Church service in the Guards’ Chapel

At 12 noon the WFA will hold its annual church service in the Guards’ Chapel, Birdcage Walk.

Remembrance Lunch

We will then move to Brown’s Restaurant at Victoria for lunch (2pm–4pm).

3 course menu available including wine for £50. Booking and payment in advance is required. Deadline for bookings is 1 November 2026.

Starters (choice of one of the below)

• Scottish smoked salmon with capers, lemon and rye bread.
• Sticky hot honey chicken with buckwheat, grains, coriander and yoghurt dip
• Pea & courgette soup with toasted crystal bread (v)

Main Courses: (choice of one of the below)

• Pulled lamb shepherds pie
  Slow cooked pulled lamb shoulder in red wine with broccoli
• Traditional Fish & Chips
  Fresh haddock, triple-cooked chips, pea & mint purée, parsley salt, tartare sauce.
• Risotto verde* (ve)
  Asparagus, courgette, peas, basil pesto, capers, pumpkin seeds

Desserts: (choice of one of the below)

• Bramley apple & rhubarb crumble  (v)
• Salted caramel profiteroles with toffee sauce (v)
• Raspberry sorbet with mixed berries
