This presentation by Phil Watson examines three key elements of Haig's and the BEF's First World War doctrine and command philosophy. It looks at the doctrine within the Field Service Regulations (FSR), how Haig implemented it as an Army Commander, and those elements that are to be found in the current British Military Doctrine (2022).
