WW1 Logistics

Where the money went - The financial cost of war by Roy Larkin.

This presentation will discuss logistics, how much items cost and also wastage. This will explain why war is an expensive business!

Roy has had a lifelong interest in road transport history with particular emphasis on the Great War period. Initial research at the Royal Logistic Corps Museum led to volunteering there and The National Archives have also provided ample opportunity to explore aspects of the back areas and Home Front. Roy is the author of two books about the role of omnibuses in the Great War, as well as a biography of Ernest Holmes from his Great War service with 62 Coy ASC through to Ministry of War Transport heavy haulage during the Second World War.
