Hawthorn crater and the Somme
Our next meeting is on Weds 5th August at Great Stukeley Village Hall, Ermine Street PE28 4AQ, when we are trialling an August meeting, especially for all those who do not holiday in August.
Our speaker is the Chair of the Hawthorn Ridge Crater Association, Terry Berry who will be talking about the history of the Craters. Terry is a founding member of the Association, actively involved in all aspects of the Association, and is on the Somme at every opportunity, networking, guiding visitors or working on the site.
Away from the battlefields, Terry is an avid Crystal Palace supporter (so should go down well with Posh supporters). Terry also played professional golf for 10 years and plays to a scratch handicap. He is a member of the Variety Club of Great Britain and a member of the Guild of Battlefield Guides.

It promises to be an interesting evening, topical as we remember events on the Somme 110 years ago.
Everyone is welcome, you are too, so do bring a friend along. Doors open at 19.00 and proceedings start at 19.30. To help cover our costs, we invite a small, voluntary donation (£4?). Refreshments are included. We very much look forward to seeing you.
