The 1917 Memorials
2027 is the 110th anniversary of the great battles of 1917, that involved British and Commonwealth forces; Arras, Messines, Passchendaele, and Cambrai. Mark’s expertise includes the history of memorials and remembrance and in this talk Mark will tell of the process to memorialise the Fallen from these battles, with no known grave, in order that we can continue to remember them at a physical location.
This meeting is at The Poppy Lounge of the Royal British Legion, 205 High Street, Hornchurch, RM11 3XT, starting at 8pm. We have access to the RBL bar during our meetings.
Members and non-members of The Western Front Association are equally welcome. Any new visitors are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from a group of like-minded enthusiasts
