British Artillery on the Western Front 1914-1918

Speaker: Rick Smith
The Battle Of Arras April May 1917 Q5142 (1)

We look at the Artillery Brigades of the BEF from the early months of the war, at the processes involved and the lessons learned throughout each year. We cover the major battles of each year of the war and how the Artillery learned and developed from each. The new ideas and technologies and the people who played key roles in those processes, that would lead to ultimate success in late 1918. We ask the question just how different in 1918 were the Artillery brigades, and the men in them, from those of 1914
