Welcome to the Ox & Bucks branch of The Western Front Association.
We are pleased to be offering a wide and varied calendar of speakers over the period 2022/ 2023 with many diverse topics. Our Branch additionally has an annual get-together in August where we meet and enjoy a chat over a coffee or perhaps something stronger!

Our guest today is talking on the subject 'Escapers All - the stories of officers and men who escaped from German captivity'. Richard includes in depth stories of those who escaped and retuned home. We often discuss German's who escaped from British camps, so this is a welcome new angle on Prisoners of War.

Stuart Hadaway presents 'On to Aleppo'
Stuart makes a welcome return to our branch to present 'On to Aleppo' culminating in the 1918 Battle of Aleppo. Recently in the news due to fighting in the area, this ancient city was once the third largest city in the Ottoman Empire after Constantinople and Cairo.

The Battle of Messines Ridge with Colin Ellender
Colin introduces the Battle of Messines Ridge that started at 3.10am on the 7th June 1917 with the detonation of mines under the German trenches and defensive positions. The battle ran between 7th and 14th June 1917.
