Raiders on the Battlefield: Special operations and forces in WW1

Speaker: Dr James Pritchett
2 Wwi Trench Raiders 2

While traditional history of the Great War focuses on conventional warfare, usually on the Western Front, James Pritchett will be discussing the often overlooked realm of special forces and operations, dispelling the myth that such phenomena are a Second World War 'invention'. Beginning with the conceptual DNA of irregular warfare and what makes 'special forces' and 'special operations special', the talk will cover several cases from 1914 to 1918, on land and at sea.

Members and non-members of The Western Front Association are equally welcome. Any new visitors are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from a group of like-minded enthusiasts.
