New Trailer Debuts for WWI Tank Survival Epic 'Landship'

9 May 2026

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming World War I survival drama Landship, offering a gritty look at the tank warfare in the Great War. Produced by the team behind Lancaster Skies and Battle Over Britain, the film shifts focus from the air to the trenches of 1917, specifically highlighting the role of the British Mk IV tank.

The True Story of 'Fray Bentos'

Set during the infamous Battle of Passchendaele, Landship is based on the incredible true story of the British tank F41, nicknamed "Fray Bentos." In August 1917, during a pivotal Allied offensive, the nine-man crew set out to destroy heavily defended German bunkers. However, the mission took a disastrous turn when the tank became stuck in a massive shell crater, stranded just yards from enemy lines.

A Fight for Survival

The film promises a claustrophobic and intense survival experience. Rather than a sweeping battlefield epic, much of the action focuses on the crew trapped inside their iron hull.
