The War Detectives: The work of the JCCC
The Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre (JCCC) Commemorations Team, also known as the "MOD War Detectives," identifies the remains of British service members from historical battlefields and rededicates previously unknown graves. They primarily investigate cases from World War I onwards.
The small team of dedicated Ministry of Defence personnel is based in Gloucester. Their work is often featured in news reports and documentaries, bringing these historical cases to public attention.
The Commemorations Team is responsible for undertaking work to identify and bury the remains of recently discovered British service personnel killed in historic campaigns from WW1 onwards.
In this presentation, Rosie Barron from the JCCC talks about the team's work and looks at some recent cases of First World War soldiers who have recently been found and commemorated.
