This talk, which was delivered 'live' to an online audience by Dr Spencer Jones explores the remarkable lives of Walter and William Congreve, a fearless father and son from one of Britain's most famous military families.

Walter was a stoic ironman who overcame physical disability through sheer force of will, whilst his son, William, was a firebrand who was always to be found where the action was hottest. Together they would become the third, and so far final, father and son to win the Victoria Cross.
