Chair
Role Purpose:
To coordinate and lead, the activities/business of the Executive Committee in order that the objectives of the Organisation are met in accordance with constitutional responsibilities and, within guidelines as required by the Charities Commission and English Law.
Key Functions:
- Direction and Control of The Western Front Association
Specific Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the strategic direction of the organization by working closely with all national Executive Committee Members.
- Ensure a clear and consistent approach in the furtherance of the organization's objectives.
- Day-to-day management of the organization through the National Executive Committee.
- Provide leadership, help, support, and encouragement to all levels of the organization.
- Chair Executive Committee meetings ensuring:
- that the agenda is followed
- that decision is made with due regard to the time available within the meeting,
- timely intervention if topics under discussion are failing to progress, and setting a time limit as agreed by majority,
- any breach of the order is raised,
- normal rules of courtesy are applied.
- Seek and encourage liaison with like-minded organizations through working closely with respective Executive Committee members as appropriate, in order to advance the profile and membership of the organization.
- Act as a point of contact in communication with third parties ensuring feedback through established communication channels to keep the national Executive Committee informed.
- Chair the Annual General Meeting ensuring:
- that the agenda is followed and that decisions are made with due regard to the time available,
- that decision is made with due regard to the time available within the meeting,
- timely intervention if topics under discussion are failing to progress, and setting a time limit as agreed by majority,
- any breach of the order is raised,
- normal rules of courtesy are applied.
- To ensure that the organization meets its legal responsibilities within the rules of the Charities Commission and English Law.
- Overall responsibility for the definition of and adherence to the statement of values and constitution of the organization.
- Represent the organization at national and international events as agreed with the national EC.
