The paper publication Cartografia militare della Prima Guerra Mondiale (Military cartography of the First World War), contains a number of maps of the Italian Front. These are mainly Austro-Hungarian in origin and form one of the largest collections of Great War maps that cover that front still in existence. In addition, there are also a few Italian and British maps.
In this work there are 246 maps with supporting text edited by Aldino Bondesan and Mauro Scroccaro. It can be found using ISBN: 978-88-99657-55-0
The original maps are held by the Archivio Di Stato Di Firenze, the State Archives of Florence.
Most of the maps of this collection are now presented under licence on TrenchMapper, they cover the Veneto region of Italy, an area that includes Venice. The areas in which the many Battles of the Isonzo River were fought are shown along with maps featuring the Battle of Asiago in 1918, a location where units from the British army fought, e.g. 1st/4th Bn. Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry.
Along with trench maps there are those that show artillery dispositions, unit locations and position lines.
